Dr Randy Woodley followed by group discussion and a

I rose early this morning. The sun is rising over Lee Point in Darwin. The salt water laps on the sand and the curlews are still calling. There is a smouldering camp fire with an early morning billy, but most of the ‘long-grass’ campers are still rolled up in their sheets. There is a stillness, a peacefulness, a calmness, that invites reflection and remembering.

There were two questions Jesus asked His disciples: “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” and “what do you say, who is that person?”. These two questions help us to understand different realities. Jesus does not need our answer to the first question as they are merely comparing Him to John the Baptist, Elijah or Jeremiah. Jesus instead requires an answer the second question. He asks all of us who are currently serving Him

God sent Paul to preach the truth and the mystery of God that he had obtained both personally and through his fellowship even though he was a persecutor of the followers of Christ. Paul carried it out with all his heart.

God calls His people to come into fellowship with Him, this call is understood as a concrete manifestation of his task to bring humanity into salvation from the first coming of Jesus to his second. So, the task the church has been called to carry out is not by the church’s own will, but a task that has been entrusted to the church by God.
