Alcohol Action Coalition

October 29, 2010

The Alcohol Forum held at the Charles Darwin University on 28 September was attended by about 100 people. Speakers included Peter d’Abbs, Professor of Substance Misuse Studies at Menzies School of Health Research; Russell Goldflam, lawyer from Alice Springs; and Emma Spencer, Chair, NT Branch of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. (Read the paper presented by Mr Goldflam: Damming the Rivers of Grog and the Comments received at the Forum.)

The meeting called for an alcohol action coalition to be formed.

A follow-up public meeting will be held on Thursday 4 November at 7.30 pm at the Casuarina Uniting Church, Vanderlin Drive, Wanguri, to consider forming the Darwin Alcohol Action Coalition.
