Relief efforts in the wake of Tongan Cyclone Ian

UnitingWorld has issued a press release giving details of the damage caused by Category 5 Cylcone Ian to the communities in the Ha’apai islands in the Tongan archipelago on Saturday 11 January.

Rev Dr Tevita Havea, General Secretary of the Free Wesleyan Church of Tonga, has returned from his visit to the area and was able to report that despite the devasting effect of the cyclone on communities, the people were still in good spirits.
