Leader seeks to unite

August 14, 2012

The Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress (UAICC) held its national conference from 6-13 July 2012 in Alice Springs at Yirara College. Themed Winds of Change the Conference examined the positive changes upon communities and regions, with a focus on learning how the intervention is affecting people in the Northern Territory. Goals for the next 5-10 years were also developed.

One item of business particularly relevant to the Northern Synod was the installation of Rev Rronaŋ Garrawurra as the new National Chair of UAICC. Crosslight magazine, the publication from the Uniting Church in Victoria and Tasmania, has published an insightful profile of Rev Garrawurra and his vision for the future of UAICC.
