Statement on Aboriginal Rights

On 7 February 2011 a number of leading Australians have made a statement expressing their concern by the failure of the Federal Government to properly address problems facing Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory. The statement lists examples of the failure of the current policies and calls upon the Government to comply with our International obligations by brining the NorthernTerritory Intervention to an end.
Leaders from the Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress have also issued a statement, appealing to the Australian people to walk with the First People of the Land in true equality.
